Hiking on the Sunny Side of Mont Blanc

Late summer a young fast company wanted something different. Somewhat spoiled, everybody had “been there, done that”.

The management wanted to inspire health and wellbeing away from the big city life.

Our solution; Hiking on the spectacular and sunny side of Mont Blanc. Direct flight to Milano. Warm focaccia on the bus. First couple of nights at a wonderful newly renovated hotel with a roof terrace in the middle of the sleepy alpine village of La Thuile. Gourmet dinners at the hotel restaurant.

Day 1; Easy hike to a mountain restaurant towards Col Petit St. Bernard. Day 2;  A full day hike from La Thuile 1440m over Col d’Arp at 2570m to Courmayeur 1220m arriving at a charming hotel right in the middle of Courmayeur for the last night. Fondue dinner and a late-night party. Day 3; Cappuccino and croissant for breakfast followed by rafting, mountain bike or rock climbing before pizza lunch and return journey home.

Facts

We chose mid-September after the main tourist season. We missed out on overbooked huts and hotels. The mountain was ours to savour and the locals shared time and personal impressions.
