Carving, Pasta & Soccer

60 consultants wanted to congregate and eat well in Italy. The challenge was to find an odd place for these accustomed Italy travelers. Another challenge was that in the group there were a large number of people who were not particularly interested in skiing.

Courmayeur, Cervinia, Monte Rosa and the Dolomites had already been visited and so we decided to fly our guests to Turin. An short hour away to the large and relatively unknown ski area Via Lattea.

The most renowned destination is Sestriere, but there are a handful of ski resorts on the ski map, in France as well as in Italy. We chose Sauze d’Oulx, which boasts a couple of really nice conference hotel. Food wise it’s almost too easy since we are friends with Simonetta running excellent restaurants both on the mountain and the village.

Perfectly prepared corduroy every morning made the carving easy and fast and we made a respectable length of runs during the three ski days. Nevertheless, there was no way we could do all the runs on the map so we all agreed to come back to this Olympic resort.

The last evening was spiced by football between Juventus and Torino. The non skiers had a guided tour of Turin including a visit to the fantastic food fair Eataly. The outstanding ice cream parlors were the cool feature of this spring weekend in March.
